The Rand strengthened against major currencies, which helped the financial sector strengthen by 0.84%. This morning, the currency in focus is the EUR which started showing strength in the wee hours after it was announced that there has been an agreement on a package of measures to stem the flow of migrants between Italy and the rest of the Eurozone. Sibanye-Stillwater on the other hand has a class action lawsuit filed against them on behalf of shareholders to recover losses suffered due to the sharp fall in the share price as the mining company’s fatality rate climbed this year.
