What’s the scoop? Samsung Product Launch
The future we have all seen and loved in Sci-Fi movies is starting to become a reality as Samsung Electronics Co Ltd have just revealed the first ever foldable screen phone. What??, yes you heard me “foldable-screen-phone!
- Samsung Electronics Co Ltd held a launch event in San Francisco earlier this week and unveiled the Galaxy Fold which will go on sale by 26 April 2019.
The big picture – The reveal came as a shock and a surprize to unsuspecting journalists covering the event as they were briefed before time about the new 5G versions of the existing Galaxy S phones. The Galaxy Fold starts out as a smartphone with a 4.6-inch display and unfolds to become a tablet of 7.3 inches. The South Korean tech giant just cemented its future as the most innovative Smart Phone developer in the world moving forward.
- But yes, you guessed it, innovation does come at a premium and the Galaxy Fold is no exception bosting a price tag of $2000.
On the flip side, in a market where consumers are cash strapped and holding on to their smart devises for longer I suspect that the products won’t fly of the shelves, or might that be the Next upgrade to come?
Notable companies reporting earnings are:
South Africa: Anglo American PLC, Assore Ltd, British American Tobacco, Blue Label Telecoms and Northam Platinum.
What does all this mean for me?
- Not much if you are an Apple enthusiast like myself but I am sure the Samsung oaks would appreciate it….?
